... $10 tights ...

had the occasion to purchase a new outfit. wasn't quite satisfied with the existing selection in my closet.
went to the store and spent $140 on a shirt and sweater.
came home, tried it on: hideous!

returned the shirt and sweater and went home completely disgusted.

went to a different store and spent $139 on a shirt and a jacket.
stopped at a different store on the way out and bought a pair of tights for $10.
went home, tried the shirt on with the jacket and hated it.

after 2 trips to the mall, a couple of transactions on the credit card, i made a decision.

i'll be wearing a dress i already own and a pair of $10 tights.

this was significantly more dramatic than it had to be.
