every year the turtles migrate from a pond nearby . they trek up a steep hill . cross man-made barriers like fences , walls , *ahem* "landscaping" , cars ; they even make it across a road .

they meander up our driveway and cruise around the yard scoping out ideal places to lay their eggs .

these turtles are small . maybe the size of a whopper from BK .

every time i see them , i try to peek in the hole they dig and see what the eggs look like .

this time i think i got it .
