The Blue Cupcake Championship has drawn to a close. The taste testers certainly extended themselves to accommodate the call to action.

The testing process was rigorous as we had very specific criteria upon which we based our ultimate decision.

Our categories included:

  • flavor - cake and frosting
  • texture and moisture of cake
  • cake to accoutrement ratio
  • decorative impact (ie WOW factor)
  • creativity of flavor combination
After much discussion, testing, and more discussion, a winner has been crowned.

Sweet Tooth - Specialty Bakery and Catering

What a phenomenal confection these talented bakers create. The decorative impact far exceeded any of the other competitors, and the texture and moisture of the cake was distinctively appealing. The Make-A-Wish cupcake with marble cake was hands down the most moist of cakes. They claim their decorative inspirations can change, but one thing we know for sure - it doesn't matter how these *little* cakes are decorated, they are awesome. The delightful frostings we encountered were anything from ganache to whipped butter cream. And, you get a double whammy of frosting-goodness as in almost every cupcake one finds a hidden treasure of buttery, creamy, sugary flavor.

What tasty treats do we recommend?:

The Make-A-Wish, the Red Velvet, and the Chocolate Truffle cupcakes.

Please note that we are not affiliated with this fine establishment, nor do we esteem ourselves as having the most refined of palettes. Instead, we just plain think these cupcakes were damn good!
